ACRL/NY’s First Year Experience Discussion Group co-chairs Carl Andrews (Bronx Community College) and Derek Stadler (LaGuardia Community College), invite members to attend our Spring 2020 meeting:

“Keeping First Year Students Engaged in a Library Instruction Session”

Come and join ACRL/NY members for an enlightening afternoon, where we will exchange ideas on how to keep freshman students engaged in the classroom. The discussion will be guided around the following themes:

  • Critical Thinking Pedagogy
  • In Class Activities
  • Using CQ Researcher to promote learning

In preparation for our meeting, we’re asking look over everyone to look over the suggested readings and resources and read a short article published in the Journal of Library Administration:
