OER Librarian Adjunct at Hunter College

Hunter College libraries is seeking an adjunct librarian to join a newly forming OER liaison team at Hunter College starting in August, 2026.

Reporting to Jennifer Newman, Humanities Librarian on the OER team, the Open Education Adjunct will work with faculty in transitioning to open and zero-cost materials and incorporating open pedagogical practices in their teaching. The Open Education Adjunct will support library projects, instruction classes, consultation and reference services, and other related activities.

Our goal is to reduce added costs to students at Hunter College. Join us to support our mission to help students from all backgrounds engage in a rigorous educational experience that prepares them to become leaders and innovators in their communities and in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Adapt, create, and update OER guides for faculty
  • Collaborate with Hunter OER team librarians on OER programs
  • Conduct surveys and focus groups with students, faculty, and staff
  • Retrieve and analyze course textbook listings

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate degree in Library and Information Science from ALA-accredited program
  • Availability to work on Hunter college 68th street and Silberman campuses during daytime hours

Preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of OER tools, resources, and practices

Compensation

Up to 20 hours per week at CUNY Non-teaching Adjunct (NTA) hourly rate ($53.76-$65.98/hour), commensurate with education and experience. Please see information on the NTA salary schedule here: https://psc-cuny.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/NTA-I-II-Schedule_updated_11-2025.pdf
