NYU’s Division of Libraries seeks an experienced, creative, strategic, and thoughtful Associate Dean for User Services and Community Experience to lead a range of forward-looking, user-focused services in support of the NYU Division of Libraries’ instruction, reference, and engagement programs through both physical and digital expressions. This is a newly configured position focused on enhancing the Libraries’ engagement with NYU’s faculty, students, staff, and the larger global community by providing effective, integrated, and responsive services to meet evolving user information, instructional, and learning needs, both within our library buildings and online. The incumbent will lead a new unit that brings together undergraduate instructional services, reference services, user experience, and community engagement services.

Reporting directly to the Dean of the Division of Libraries and serving as a member of the Library’s Senior Leadership Team, the Associate Dean for User Services and Community Experience will work across the organization to establish strategic priorities, allocate resources, make personnel decisions, set policies, and make strategic and operational decisions. The Associate Dean for User Services and Community Experience will form partnerships within and beyond the NYU community to develop an expansive vision for the Division of Libraries as a vital collaborator in NYU’s global educational mission.
