Open Access Discussion Group: Open Mapping in Open Literacy Pedagogy (Friday, February 3)

ACRL/NY members, please join the Open Access Discussion Group for a presentation on Open Mapping.

Who: Adrianna Martinez, Librarian, Sojourner Truth Library at SUNY New Paltz

When: February 3, 2023, 2-3:30 PM

What: Open Mapping in Open Literacy Pedagogy

In response to ACRLNY members asking to learn more about OpenTools and their potential applications in Open Education and Open Research practices, we are delighted to invite Adrianna Martinez (she/they) to share her work and insights using OpenStreetMaps. She will review her work around OpenStreetMaps for community engagement and research. She will join us in discussions on furthering Open Mapping into regular open literacy pedagogy. This presentation doesn’t require any prior knowledge of open mapping, but aims to start a conversation about the ways open mapping tools can be used for open education and human flourishing.

Please register in advance for this presentation by Jan. 31.
