LLAMA Journal Seeks Associate Editor

LLAMA is encouraging applications for Associate Editor of the division journal LL&M (Library Leadership & Management). The position requires a four-year commitment: two years as Associate Editor (2018-20) and two as Editor (2020-22). The term will begin this fall with Volume 32, no. 4.

Position Description: The role of the Associate Editor has varied some over the years, but the intention is that the Associate Editor will collaborate with the current Editor in producing a high quality journal with value-added educational content specifically targeted for the LLAMA membership, but also relevant to the library community at large. LL&M is an open-access journal currently hosted on the Texas Digital Library OJS platform and includes both refereed and non-refereed content. The Associate Editor must attend the ALA Midwinter Meeting and Annual Conference, with emphasis on attending LLAMA events and meetings to better identify and recruit appropriate content. He or she also serves as an ex-officio member of the LLAMA Board of Directors and is encouraged to coordinate with the Editor to attend board meetings for better insights into LLAMA strategic issues.

Position Requirements:

Experience with writing and publishing in a print or electronic environment and/or demonstrated editorial experience
Familiarity with emerging technologies in publishing; experience with Open Journal Systems is a plus
Interest in and knowledge of leadership issues relevant to libraries, and a familiarity with management and leadership literature in general
Knowledge of LLAMA Committees and Communities of Practice and the division focus on providing educational content for members
Familiarity with the LLAMA Competencies

Compensation: An annual stipend of $1,750 is provided to defray travel and/or editorial expenses. Complimentary conference registration is also provided.
