ACRL/NY FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE DISCUSSION GROUP MEETING “Utilizing the Credo First Year Experience Guide” Friday, May 17, 2019

Utilizing the Credo First Year Experience Guide

ACRL/NY’s First Year Experience Discussion Group co-chairs Carl Andrews (Bronx Community College) and Derek Stadler (LaGuardia Community College), invite members to attend our Spring 2019 discussion.

Come join us for what will be an engaging and informative session where attendees will share ideas on how they envision using the Credo FYE Guide: Practices for Enhancing Instruction at their respective campuses. “Written by and for librarians, the Credo FYE Guide offers step-by-step instructions, activities, lesson plans, and case studies for designing a successful first year experience initiative. Readers of this interactive, open-access guide will find proven strategies and trusted resources for supporting first-year students and maximizing the library’s impact on everything from retention levels, to graduation rates, to employability.”

Please see the attached PDF. Attendees are asked to peruse the guide before we meet on May 17th.  On the day of the discussion, we will share ideas on how to enhance our instruction by incorporating some of the ideas suggested in the Guide to help first-year students.
