You are invited to a joint meeting of ACRL/NY Resource Sharing Discussion Group and Waldo Technical Services Committee, at St. John’s University in Manhattan on Oct. 10, 2013.
Collection Development has been radically transformed as academic libraries continue to move to an environment in which bibliographic tools and content are available digitally. The role of technical services has become increasingly complex as libraries adopt new methods of discovery such as unified search, and new methods of acquisition such as Demand Driven Acquisition, Short Term Loan, and Pay Per View.A With the move from print to online journals largely complete, libraries are faced with integrating ebooks, online archives, and streaming media into library collections.A As Director of Procurement Services of the Westchester Academic Library Association (WALDO), Rob Karen has a unique perspective on these developments from the perspective of both librarians and vendors. Join us as Rob discusses future directions in the electronic resources landscape. There will be ample time for Q&A.
