About this Event
The moments in the e-resource lifecycle that often provoke the most discussion are those when critical decisions are made: the investigation/acquisition, review, and possible cancellation of resources. But what of the long periods in between, when a resource is licensed, implemented, and should remain fully available to its community of users? This workshop will explore the crucial, unsung work of ongoing maintenance.
Participants will explore system-agnostic routines and tools that can help them steward their collections over time, supporting uninterrupted access to content and ongoing intellectual control over their online resources.
Topics covered will include:
- Building maintenance and access checks into your regular routines
- Making the most of unplanned migrations, mergers, and problem reports
- Using your license agreements to support ongoing maintenance
