As librarians, we are often working on several committees and projects, and being asked to do “more with less,” and in many cases, our work ties us to a computer. This session will focus on using some of the analog techniques found in “bullet journaling” to keep organized, to prioritize, and to reflect on how we spend our time.
Ryder Carroll developed Bullet Journaling as a flexible, fast *analog* system to “Track the past, organize the present, and design for the future [youtu.be]”.
You need not buy a special journal, any notebook will do. Your journal can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. The session will explain some of the benefits of using an analog method in the digital age, it will offer some sample journals that others have created, and allow time for you to start the BuJo process, if you wish.
You can bring a blank notebook you have lying around; some notebooks and pens will also be provided
Join the ACRL/NY New Librarians’ Discussion Group and Mentoring Program for an exploration of this topic — led by Kathryn Shaughnessy — and networking with colleagues! Refreshments will be served.
