ACRL/NY Management and Leadership Development – Discussion Group Meeting: Responding to Resilience in Academic Libraries – November 9
Resilience is a major buzzword across many fields, and it is increasingly sought after as a personal and organizational quality to develop. What does resilience mean when it’s applied to libraries and our workplaces? Is resilience a desirable trait for leaders to develop themselves or encourage in others? Or does resilience tend to ignore deeply-rooted issues in favor of doing more with less? This ACRL/NY Management and Leadership Discussion Group meeting will explore these questions and more at Mercy College on November 9 from 9:30am-11am.
Using the article “Responding to and Reimaging Resilience in Academic Libraries [newlibs.org]” as a jumping off point, moderator Eamon Tewell will provide a brief overview of how the idea of resilience has changed and been applied to different fields, and guide a discussion on several key questions related to resilience, organizational change, and leadership.
Location: Mercy College, 66 W 35th St, New York, NY
Room: Room #723 (7th Floor)
Date: Friday, November 9, from 9:30 am – 11 am
