What are meaningful research metrics and how are they supported by todaya��s academic libraries?

In this webcast, we review the topic of scholarly impact measurement, including current trends related to bibliometrics, altmetrics and research impact in general. Emphasis will be placed on major tools available to scholars and librarians, as well as special discussions, controversies and developments within the growing field of altmetrics. Participants will be given an opportunity to discuss and reflect on their own institutional needs and efforts, particularly around the role librarians can and do play in support of successful impact measurement.Questions and interaction are both expected and encouraged.

Define bibliometrics, altmetrics, and other keywords as part of the scholarly impact landscape.

Discuss practices, obstacles, and opportunities related to supporting scholarly impact within the participantsa�� local environments.
