Iona College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Research and Instruction Services Librarian. This position contributes to the overall operation and functions of Research and Instruction Services and shares responsibility for the operation of the Helen T. Arrigoni Library and Technology Center.
-Provide in-person and virtual research assistance to students, faculty and the community and prepare/maintain research guides and content using Springshare software.
-Teach in-person and virtual general and advanced research classes in collaboration with faculty and staying current with curriculum content.
-Participate in identifying and developing enhancements to Information Literacy programs including the creation of videos and online tutorials.
-Support the curriculum by acting as liaison to designated academic departments, focusing on outreach and collection development of materials in all formats.
-Share responsibility for the operation of the Arrigoni Library/Technology Center. Manage student workers.
-Perform other job duties and responsibilities as requested; occasional weekends and evening shifts may be required.
Required education and experience:
-Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent.
-One or more years of academic or other library experience.
-Experience providing research assistance in multiple formats and venues (in-person, online, group, one-on-one).
-Knowledge of information literacy and techniques of library instruction.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in multiple formats and to diverse audiences.
