The University at Albany Libraries seek an energetic and detail-oriented information professional to oversee the Serials Services Unit. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with the complexity of supporting electronic resource management of electronic journals and managing the print serials acquisitions processes.
The unit orders, checks in, and claims all continuation orders (monographic series, serials, and periodicals) and prepares renewal invoices for payment. The successful candidate will resolve problems related to orders and invoices as well as patron problems accessing electronic resources for which both require internal and external communication.
The successful candidate will share responsibility for management of vendor-provided bibliographic records for e-serials and e-journals including automated loading, activation of electronic resources, and communication with vendors. The E-Journals/Serials Coordinator reports to the Head of the Acquisitions Services Department.
