Serials Coordinator – University at Albany – Albany, NY

The University at Albany Libraries (State University of New York, Albany, NY) seek a detail-oriented information professional to oversee the Serials Services Unit. The unit orders, checks in, and claims all continuation orders (monographic series, serials and periodicals) and prepares renewal invoices for payment. The successful candidate will place orders for titles in print and print-plus-online format; resolve problems related to orders, subscription records, and invoices, including communication with vendors and selectors; provide training; and serve as a resource person for serials acquisitions, including serial check-in and creation of MARC 21 publication patterns. The successful candidate will share responsibility for management of vendor-provided bibliographic records for e-serials and e-journals, including automated loading, maintenance of resources in a knowledge base, and communication with vendors. The Serials Coordinator reports t o the Head of the Acquisitions Services Department.
