ACRL/NY 2015 Symposium Scholarships for Students & Librarians

Would you like to join a vibrant community of practice with academic-library colleagues from the Greater New York Metropolitan area? If so, we encourage you to apply for one of the three ACRL/NY Scholarship Programs offered by the Greater New York Metropolitan Area Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Student ScholarshipA�a�� For students currently enrolled in graduate degree programs in library/information science who are considering a career in academic librarianship (4 awardees).

Early Career Librarian ScholarshipA�a�� For an academic librarian who has been practicing less than 5 years following receipt of a Mastera��s degree in library/information science (1 awardee).

Veteran Librarian ScholarshipA�a�� For an academic librarian who been in practice at least 5 years following receipt of a Mastera��s degree in library/information science (1 awardee).

The ACRL/NY Symposium Scholarship awardees receive a waiver of registration fees for the organizationa��s upcoming 2015 symposium, a�?Social Responsibility, Democracy, Education, and Professionalism: Supporting Core Values in Academic and Research Librarianship,a�? to take place at Baruch Collegea��s Vertical Campus onA�Friday, December 4, 2015. Featuring speakers, poster sessions, discussion and networking opportunities, this yeara��s event will focus on the ways librarianshipa��s core professional values support professional practice in academic libraries. Breakfast and lunch at the event are included.

Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full-day symposium and publish a short article on their impressions of the day in the ACRL/NY newsletterConnections.

Scholarship recipients will be notified on or before:A�Wednesday, November 18, 2015.
