Reference Librarians (Adjunct) — Farmingdale State College — Farmingdale, NY

Greenley Library at Farmingdale State College is accepting applications for Adjunct Reference librarians for the term beginning January 2017.

Successful candidates will provide excellent customer service and reference assistance to students and faculty members in finding library materials, using the library's online resources, and citing sources.

Responsibilities include: assisting in-person patrons, answering the reference desk phone and tracking patron statistics. Positions include opening and/or closing the library. May teach an occasional library research class.

Shifts available:

Saturday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Tuesday evenings, 5:00pm a�� 11:00pm

Wednesday evenings, 5:00pm a�� 11:00pm

Required: MLS from an ALA accredited institution. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.

Preferred: Experience in an academic library, knowledge of college-level reference services and resources.
