Reference, Instruction and Access Librarian (Senior Assistant Librarian) – The Reference, Instruction and Access Librarian is responsible for the circulation and maintenance of physical collections and for course reserves, both physical and electronic. This librarian will supervise clerical and student employees, and reports to the Library Director. This librarian provides, together with the other librarians, reference and instructional services in-person and online. The successful candidate will be cooperative and confident, customer-centered, and eager to engage with the changing services and methods of libraries. More specifically, this librarian will: Supervise staff of circulation and reserves services. Supervise maintenance of physical collection. Review access policies (such as loan periods) and make recommendations to librarians. Remain aware of latest technologies for proving superior service and make appropriate recommendations. Prep are quantitative and qualitative reports on services monthly and as requested. Ensure that reserves are copyright compliant. Produce web-based research guides, tutorials, etc. Provide, along with other librarians, reference service, both in-house and online, synchronously and asynchronously. Provide, along with other librarians, instruction in information literacy and management, in the classroom and online, synchronously and asynchronously. Participate in resource development. Engage in college service, such as committees. Engage in librarian professional development, such as workshops, seminars and professional organizations. Perform other duties as assigned. Perform evening and/or weekend work as required.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree. Ability to take initiative, prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage change. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Facility with Excel, PowerPoint and LibGuides (or comparable tools). Ability and enthusiasm for reference service in-person and online. Ability and enthusiasm for library instruction in-person and online. Demonstrable knowledge of emerging technology for lending and maintaining physical collections. Physical ability to move about the building and to handle the tools of the trade. Experience using automated circulation systems. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:   Supervisory experience. Experience with electronic reserves. Experience with copyright compliance. Classroom teaching experience (library or other). Online teaching experience (library or other). Experience managing automated circulation systems. Reference experience. Academic library experience.
