Reporting to the Dean of Libraries University Libraries and working closely with the Coordinators of Instructional Services and Reference Services at the Garden City campus, Adelphi is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, service oriented librarian to provide research assistance to faculty and students. An important part of this position is to assist and participate in all areas of information literacy instruction. Working in a collaborative environment the incumbent’s responsibilities include all aspects of instruction from instructional development and design to providing classroom and online instruction for the Freshman Experience program to course related instructional sessions for undergraduate and graduate level courses in subject areas such as Education, Nursing and Social Work. The position is available immediately for up to 20 hours a week.
REQUIREMENTS: An MLS from an ALA-accredited program; Strong public-service orientation and proficiency with automated library systems, electronic information resources, and emerging technologies; Academic library experience teaching library instruction classes for undergraduate and graduate students ; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collegial environment; Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, students and staff; A flexible work schedule during the fall and spring semesters to accommodate some evening and weekend teaching assignments.
HIGHLY PREFERRED: Experience creating instructional materials using LibGuides, Camtasia, Captivate, or SurveyMonkey.
