TITLE: Part Time Catalog Librarian, Swirbul Library, Garden City
(Up to 15 hours a week)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adelphi University is seeking an enthusiastic detail-oriented Adjunct Librarian to assist in the daily operations of the cataloging department at the Garden City campus (Swirbul Library). The position is available immediately; 15 hours a week during the hours of 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. The Adjunct Librarian provides copy and original catalog records, authority control, and catalog maintenance. Recent graduates interested in working in a mentoring environment are encouraged to apply. The position reports to the Catalog Librarian. The Adjunct Librarian works closely with the cataloging department staff in a collaborative environment to efficiently and effectively prepare and distribute materials for student and faculty success.

REQUIREMENTS: An MLS from an ALA-accredited library school. Some experience with cataloging and familiarity with bibliographic and metadata standards, schemas, and tools. Experience with RDA, OCLC Connexion, authority control, and an integrated library system, preferably III’s Millennium/Sierra. Ability to work effectively and collegially with a diverse population of faculty, students and staff.
