Part-Time Acquisitions Librarian – Adelphi University – Garden City, NJ

Adelphi University Libraries is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and service-oriented part-time Acquisitions Librarian to manage the periodical (print and online) ordering and maintenance processes. The incumbent will report to the Dean of Libraries with day-to-day supervision by the Acquisitions Librarian. The position is available immediately for 10 hours per week, with hours to overlap with Acquisitions Librarian, 9-5.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise claiming and checking-in of print periodicals
  • Supervise payment of invoices and load invoices via EDI
  • Supervise checking of online access to subscribed e-journals.
  • Design and supervise periodicals maintenance projects
  • Collaborate with selectors to process the annual periodical renewal

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with periodicals in an academic library.
  • Experience with integrated library systems (Sierra preferred).
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
