Metadata Research Intern (fall term, unpaid)–Felician College–Lodi, NJ

Felician College Libraries seek an intern to research metadata options as it adopts a digital repository for student and faculty scholarship and creative work. The intern will research, compare, and evaluate metadata schemes, such as Dublin Core, Encoded Archival Description (EAD), Learning Object Metadata (LOM), and MARC. The goal is to explore various metadata options in anticipation of launching a digital repository on a hosted software platform (e. g., bepress, Content DM, Artstor’s Shared Shelf). The intern will share findings and recommendations with library staff at the completion of the project.

This non-credit internship requires a commitment of 5 hours a week for 8 weeks on Mondays at the Lodi, New Jersey campus. Start and end dates are flexible. This internship will be under the supervision of the Archival Associate. The internship is ideal for a graduate student pursuing a graduate library degree with a focus on digital collections development and management. Please forward a letter of interest and rAsumA to Angelica Diggs, Archival Associate, Felician College, at
