Lecturer/Reference Librarian – Bergen Community College – Paramus, NJ

Location: Paramus
Description: The Lecturer/Reference Librarian will provide reference and instructional services to students and faculty at all BCC library locations. Responsibilities include working as a collaborative member of the library reference team; assisting students working on research papers and projects; instructing students on use of various research databases, answering in-depth and general reference questions and identifying relevant sources; assisting faculty in crafting library assignments; teaching basic library instruction classes; working on collection development projects as needed and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Qualifications: Master’s degree in Library Science from ALA accredited Library school is required; 2 years public service experience (in any field); reference experience in an academic library, preferably at a community college; experience with assessment is a plus. Must have current knowledge of databases, internet resources and MS office suite programs; must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills; must be able to work at the Paramus and Meadowlands locations.
