FULL-TIME, ADMINISTRATIVE POSITION
Health Sciences Library
The Health Sciences Librarian is responsible for developing and delivering responsive, innovative information services in the health/basic sciences and reports to the Director of the Health Sciences Library. This position is located at the Quinnipiac University North Haven Campus, will support the Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine scheduled to open in 2013, the School of Health Sciences, and School of Nursing. The graduate health sciences programs include nursing, diagnostic imaging, physical and occupational therapy, and physician and pathologists’ assistant studies as well as biology and chemistry. A Doctorate of Nursing Practice is the newest addition to academic offering.
The Health Sciences Librarian supports and collaborates with faculty to integrate electronic information resources into the teaching and learning process. The successful candidate will also provide consultation, technical assistance and creative expertise to tailor instructional resources to faculty and student needs. In addition, the position will provide individualized reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff and proactively maintain a working knowledge of current technology and pedagogy. The incumbent should familiarize themselves with best practices from peer institutions. The Health Sciences Librarian will provide on-ground, synchronous, and asynchronous instruction on an array of topics and case based questions for a student population of more than 2,000. Working with the Academic Technology department, the incumbent will facilitate innovative and imaginative use of electronic resources in support of the University mission. Visibility of this position is pr omoted through outreach, participating in classroom instruction on information literacy, problem based learning, and evidence based practice. Responsibilities include some weekend and evening hours.
The Health Sciences Librarian will partner with other areas of the university. Membership on faculty committees will be encouraged. Other project and tasks as needed.

• Graduate degree in librarianship from an ALA-accredited program.
• Professional experience in a science or a health sciences library
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to professional development both internally and through outside organizations
Preferred: Work experience in an academic setting, and/or instructional experience, especially in the area of information literacy or e-learning approaches
