Description:
Many academic librarians come to the profession unfamiliar with the organization and arrangement of legal collections, and have little or no background in working with legal research tools. Elective courses, continuing education, or on the job training are the only venue librarians have to acquire these skills. With more and more legal content available online and infused into coursework it is important to foster the development of legal information literacy skills among academic librarians and students. This workshop session is the perfect venue for academic librarians to increase their knowledge base of legal resources and how to use them more effectively. The session is designed to assist librarians learn the basic skills along with useful finding aids and resources that are used with and to facilitate the use of primary legal materials.
