Provides face-to-face/ online library instruction sessions and conducts virtual /in-person consultations.
Creates online subject guides and other course-specific research resources for undergraduate and graduate level courses especially in subject areas such as Education, Nursing and Social Work in collaboration with library and teaching faculty.
Contributes to the investigation and application of new instructional techniques, pedagogies, and technologies to integrate information literacy and research skills for face to face and online instructional sessions; Markets and implements the integration of learning materials into course curricula.
Participates as an active member of the Instructional Services and User Education Committee. The committee contributes to the curriculum development for credited and integrated instructional programs including the First Year Experience. Additionally, as part of the Reference team, the Digital Learning and Instruction Librarian provides general reference services (virtual and in-person), Will also help shape future library services to distance learning students and should understand the evolving needs of nontraditional students.
MLS from an ALA-accredited program. Strong public-service orientation and familiarity with library systems, digital information resources, and emerging technologies is required. Experience providing instruction in an academic setting. Demonstrated ability to select, implement and evaluate instructional design concepts. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collegial environment are essential. Flexible work schedule during the fall and spring semesters to accommodate some evening and weekend teaching assignments.
Experience teaching credit bearing courses in an academic setting; course development and design; creating instructional and information materials such as Libguides 2.0; working knowledge of applications such as Google applications, Camtasia, Captivate and CMS systems.
