The State University of New York at Fredonia seeks qualified applicants for a Coordinator of Archives and Special Collections. The Library’s University Archives contain publications, papers, and memorabilia related to the history of the University. Special Collections include collections on the renowned Austrian Jewish author Stefan Zweig Collection, 20th-century American classical music, particularly as exemplified in the papers of preeminent classical saxophonist Sigurd M. Raschèr and Fredonia’s own Walter S. Hartley, and various collections related to local history.
The successful candidate will manage the day to day operations of Archives and Special Collections and process or supervise the processing of collections as necessary. In addition, the successful candidate will develop and implement programs for the creation of digital archives and automated access. An ALA accredited Master of Library Science or closely related field plus at least two years of experience in a library/archival setting are required. Preference will be given to candidates with a certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists and to candidates with both verbal and written proficiency in German.
