Adjuncy Instruction/Reference Librarian — Adelphi University — Garden City, NY

Adelphi University is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, public-service oriented librarian to provide research and reference assistance, both online and in-person. The Adjunct Librarian will report to the Dean of Librarians and works closely with the Coordinator of Instructional Services and Reference Services at the Garden City campus. Working in a collaborative, team-based environment, the candidatea��s responsibilities include all aspects of instruction including lesson planning, assessment and the creation of online teaching tools, especially in the areas of health and social sciences. The candidate will serve on the Instructional Services and User Education Committee to develop library policies and programs in support of user education. The position is available immediately for 20 hours a week.


MLS from an ALA-accredited institution.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Familiarity with information resources and emerging technology
Evidence of both professional initiative and flexibility.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, effectively and collegially with a diverse population.
Academic library experience teaching library instruction classes for undergraduate and graduate students.


Experience creating instructional and information materials using Libguides 2.0, and a working knowledge of Google applications as well familiarity with Camtasia, Captivate, Google Hangouts, Adobe Connect, and Panopto.
