Adjunct Reference Librarian–Mina Rees Library, CUNY Graduate Center–New York, N.Y.

The Mina Rees Library (The Graduate Center, CUNY) seeks an Adjunct Reference Librarian to work up to 12 hours/week starting August 26, 2013. The position will continue through January 24, 2014 and total 225 hours. Hours will mostly be 4–8 p.m. (some flexibility) on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday.

Primary responsibilities include online and in-person reference service, one-on-one consultation, and graduate level workshop instruction. Secondary responsibilities may include contributing to the re-design of the library website; writing and editing content for the library website and/or LibGuides; and working on projects involving data (e.g., GIS, data management plans, statistical software).

QUALIFICATIONS:

MLS from an ALA-accredited program is required. Strong public-service orientation and expertise with a wide range of library databases required.  Experience with WordPress, CSS, and graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.  Knowledge of data management plans, GIS, statistical packages preferred.

Salary: depends on experience and qualifications
