Adjunct Acquisitions Librarian, Instructor or Assistant Professor — New York City College of Technology (City Tech), CUNY — New York, NY

The Ursula C. Schwerin Library at New York City College of Technology (City Tech), CUNY, seeks an Adjunct Acquisitions Librarian. The Adjunct Acquisitions Librarian will report to the Head of Collection Management. Responsibilities will include though are not limited to:

—overseeing the materials budget (print and electronic resources).

—monitoring spending using the librarya��s online system (ALEPH) and CUNYFirst.

—designing and maintaining expenditure reports.

—overseeing ordering, claiming, receiving, and payment in ALEPH, OCLC and CUNYFirst.

—establishing and maintaining relationships with college business office personnel, publishers, and vendors.

—troubleshooting issues with materials, vendors, and invoice/payments.

—training and supervising support staff (College Office Assistant/College Assistant).

—special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

—Mastera��s in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) or closely related discipline from an ALA-accredited institution; a second mastera��s degree OR doctorate is required for appointment as Assistant Professor

—Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word

—Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

—Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with academic accounting practices, ALEPH, and supervisory experience.

This position will begin in mid-August 2015. The ideal candidate for this position will be available to work 10-15 hours per week during the academic year and summer.
